It didn't do to much to the frame of the truck horns are a bit bent thats an under statement. and it pushed the driver side rail in far enough the gear box snapped off the fuel pump. But i think i how most of my front end to the damn soild steel box tubbed bumper that barely gave

yeah, ive heard its better to keep your bumper a size or two thinner than your frame so it will collapse instead of your frame. otherwise its like you said, the bumper just transfers it to the frame so the frame gets f**ked.

the stock bumpers seem too thin to me though, mine are all bent and warped, but its only from bumping into trees and one time I backed into a ladys car, I rolled from the bottom of my driveway in neutral and bumped into her car. her car got a nice dent and my bumper got bent downwards a little bit i think, unless it was from a tree but that wasnt real hard either.
