Hi All! just switched to a 98 Ranger 4.0 5spd 4x4 from many years as a bronco rider. Bought this ranger last week from friend knowing the clutch was on last legs. Am getting a few conflicting reports on which clutch kits to purchase. Found a Napa clutch from PerfectionUSA clutch: AD say's NEW NAPA #MU72159-1clutch set-95-05 Ford Ranger / Mazda on line then I call NAPA and they say the MU72159 is for 2001-08...then go to PerfectionUSA who makes it for them and it states that it fits 95-08. Don't want to buy before making darn sure it fits and works like oem. Any suggestions on where i can go to confirm compatibility for sure???
thanks for any assist on this or recommendations. tekrek
am a newbie here this is a great great site!!

thanks...so if a vendor out there is selling a clutch stating that it fits all 4.0's from 1995 to 08...I should go elsewhere as he's wrong. model year 98-00 has its own unique clutch system.

as far as i know, yes. The clutch for the 3.0, or other size engines might be the same for that year range.
