95 ranger clutch issue

There is a tool that comes with clutch kits, usually get them with new slaves too. They work sometimes. I personally have had issues with the plastic collar degrading to where it doesn't press the fingers in and the tool bends instead.

This is why I have taken to cutting the line off and then driving the roll pin that keeps the female end of the fitting to the slave. But then you have the fun of routing a new line.

Huey, are you talking about the large aluminum quick disconnect on the line going from the master cylinder to the slave?

If so (because I got confused by what Adsm08 is talking about), then I've mainly just used a screwdriver to push in the ring. Then I carefully pull (or wiggle) the line out of the connector.

when i replaced the slave i couldnt get the fitting off so i knocked roll pin out of slave and just put the old quick connect in the new slave the white coller was ripped all to shreds.

yeah thats whati was talking about the white ring around the quick disconnect on the slave side

the i": You do not need a definate (<-???)article when refering to yourself. "OK, I bent..." is the proper form of that phrase.

"Blowed": This is NOT the past tense of the verb "to blow". To blow is an irregular verb in English and the correct past participle is "blew".

"push in clutch": Here you do need a definite (<-???) article. "push in THE clutch".

"It don't" This is an incorrect conjugation. The correct third-person past tense of "to do" is "doesn't or does not". Don't is the first and second person conjugate.

Puctuation and capitalization: Learn them and use them, properly.

You got your point across rather well and I agree completely. I, on the other hand, must point out some things that did make me guffaw rather loudly. We all make mistakes at some point, but if you're gonna call him out, do it correctly! :icon_rofl:

Yes, I have not reinstalled Firefox since my last HD format just yet. I am sadly without my spell checker just yet.

I'm waiting to see if this installation stays stable before putting everything back on.

I guess?? or is this not correct lol

No, you, me and Jughead are all talking about the same thing.

His method works in a pinch.

if it has been replaced no but if its the original quick disconnect you can try taking a scraper and grinding the center out to make a horseshoe like shape and depress the plastic keeper mine was a pain to get out the newer ones have a metal clip holding it once you get it out and bleed it the rod in the master cylinder should only move about a quarter inch
