91 ranger s-cab 4x4

this is roughly my idea.
install a explorer hanger in front of the rear cab mount,it moves my wheelbase aprox 22".use a explorer rear shackle hang on the back and cut off the frame behind it.here is a drawing i did

now with that i looked at the frame really good and then used paint on my comp and came up with this....

i like it...gives me a wb of around 103" dang near perfect.thanks for all advise to lead me to this...
now tell me what you think of this idea......

I like it. Keep in mind you will have to do something with the gas tank if you move it up. I would push your front axle forward though and make the wheel base a little longer.

thank you
my fuel tank will be a 16 gal fuel cell in the tool box.kinda like this.i will cut a hole in the box floor to set the cell down in also cut the bed floor to sink the cell down to the bottom part of frame rails....pic is as if you are standing behind truck looking forward...

as for the front axle...not sure yet...dont know if i want a fac style radi arm type or a 4 link with air shox....right now it will stay as is though.

my turn signal s are not working but the hazards are.i put a new flasher in and did not help, think the multi-function switch could be bad?

Aren't there separate flashers for the hazards and turn signals? I think they are.

yeah replced both......but got more serious problems...started work on it today to shorten it up.i pressure washed the frame to get all the crap off and..well parts of the frame came off to.i got about a foot section that is ate up and another 3 feet that is corroded really bad.parts of the frame are as thin as a piece of paper...some are worse.so i am selling is as is or parting it out.i do have two other trucks that i can use to build a sweet 4x4.....

1) 1998 ford explorer 4x4 with a sohc
2) 1999 isuzu amigo

which ever one i build would get my d44 hp and 9" swapped in.the amigo would get a 5.0 and auto tranny, the expo would stay sohc and auto.the expo is really nice...well both are really and the amigo is a softtop.

i know most if not all will say the isuzu is junk and dont do it...well think of it this way...a Ford will live on but in a isuzu body.the amigo engine is blown so nobody wants to buy it so its actually the perfect canidate.

the expo needs a fuel pump and then i can sell it to fund this project or try to find a swb frame for the ranger...or a bronco frame :icon_idea: this is a very good option.......i get a nice sturdy frame,a v8,full size axles(spares)....hhhhmmmm got check into this........

Don't quote me on this, but I think the fuel pump out of the ranger will fit the explorer....
SVT

sold the ranger.....fixed the 98 x and also bought..well traded the amigo for a 95 limited 4x4 x with a ohv in it.the 98 4x4 with the sohc i am going to sell also but the 95 iam going to build it.it will get the d44 and 9 ".i will start a different build thread on it once i get started.

ok....dont laugh too much...i got the ranger back,i could not stand not having it.the build for it will continue...sad news is that i sold the front d44 i had..still have the 9" so only gotta find a front axle now.the guy i sold the ranger to painted it black and the rims red...yes i have rescued it and its coming home.

i have a issue to work out on the ranger. it has some frame rot, right by the rear passenager cab mount, right where the new x spring hanger would mount, should i just clean the area good, protect it with a anti-rust and then box it or cut out that section and weld in new metal?once i get the truck back to the house i will take pics of problem area.

Well, first post some pics of the frame, so we can see if its fixable
