91 ranger s-cab 4x4

i know how to slip the clutch...i am 40 and been driving offroad since i was 13.won two backyard bashes with a 2004 tj and a stick so i am preety good with a stick plus a retired truck drive.....i guess i should have worded it aliitle different..autos take the scary challenge away were sticks give you the pucker effect sometime.but yes after thinking about it i would stay stick...way more fun and adds a little more technical to technical climbs/obsticles....on with the build
thanks all for you input

No problem...You might want to think about a doubler, while not needed, if definitely adds to the challenges/trails you can do :icon_thumby:

thats a double transfer case right?what would i need to do it?i think i have a 1354 t-case now...91 with a 4.0 and 5speed, manual t-case and hubs.

Yes, essentially two transfer cases mated together from adapter plates and connected via stub shaft, with the rear section and front output cut off one case and sealed back up. You can get a kit, or build your own there is only one manufacturer who makes them, D.D. Machine. If you build your own the most critical part will be making the shaft.

You could use your current case as the rear case and find a 1350 manual case in a yard to cut up. You need to fab a new trans x member, and use a longer speedo cable, shorten lengthen driveshafts, etc.

thanks...i know i am stoked...this rearend is what i used in 1000hp mustangs and torino i had.

i am looking at some shocks that you dont need to run coils or leafs with...they are all built into this air shock.i first saw them last week on extreme 4x4.Ian put them on a sammy...it worked great and freed up alot of room.all you needs is bars to locate the axles and these air shock...i think he said they were fox 2.0 air shocks.anybody heard of them or better yet has them and some pics with them on something?

Check out Kyle M's build, he is using Air-shocks. You could also use coil-overs

Kyle M is running them, and I also have a set that I will be running, I'm building my 60 now for the front...
