91 ranger s-cab 4x4

i am sticking with the ranger...even if i pull parts off to build the amigo...it will just make the ranger better in the long run...v8,60's,exo,buggy bed...ect....:headbang:
but........
i would rather have the ranger big time.......the amigo is cool but,its an import!i am leaning toards just getting a motor for it and sell it...then send that cash on the ranger...:yahoo:

well i got to goofin around with the computer and changed up the the ranger...shortened it by about 10"...i love the looks.....

now let me ask this.is it possible to cut the frame in front of the front hanger and just before the rear cab mount (cut it so its a wegde shape) and weld the frame bck together with a reinforcement plate inside the frame rail and then box it.would it be strong enough?

this is the rough idea...

Yes, you can cut the frame and weld it back together along with frame bracing. And have you thought about moving it more than just 10"??

Just move the springs forward and cut off the rear, nothing to worry about then....especially if you are only going 10"

ok,i looked at the frame and if i move it forward 10" then it will be at a flat point on the frame and lift the back.......never mind...i see a few good things here...
1)free lift
2)mount hangers on frame like kyles and gain more lift...back should be good then..
3)run 63's...can i do this and still lose 10" on my wb?
4)dont have to cut frame but still lose the rust i dont need lol

thanks for the input.i chose the 10" because it will give my a 115" wb...just about perfect for trailriding...short enough for the trails and long enough for the climbs.plus if i go shorter i might get into my cab corners at flex.i am going with a lowrider with 35's on fw's and lots of trimming.

I moved my rear axle forward just shy of 12" with little lift, fender trimming I am running 38's. I am running 63's with no block and stock shackles. It can be done.

your truck is my inspration...read the entire thread the other day...awesome truck...i like rangersvt and slo-vo truck too

Thanks, soon I'll be mimicking Kyle's setup and shortening like he did, but not exactly (Hey, gotta be different!!), I want to go 14" (and move the front forward around 2"), but I won't know til I get there. I'm setting the front up as we speak and should have it done by friday...

Original, I like! I pushed my front axle forward 3" to 4" so my over all is around 117" and I have to say it wheels very nice

Thanks! I appreciate it! Guys like you are the ones that keep me going on it. Keep up the good work!

i dont know if i will move my axle forward or not when i sas it.
thank you, guys like you,svt and a few other makes me wanna keep on with mine,i know my body is different but still gives me ideas for mine...thanks a bunch guys

ok heres my plan...
use explorer spring hangers to mount on the bottom of frame. the front hangers will be in front of the rear cab mounts, then i will move everything else to fit...will probably use chevy 63's...or just might use explorer springs.what do ya'll think?
once evryting is in place i will cut off the rear frame section thats not needed...all the way to the rear hangers.
