Hey guys, so I need some advice/help on something. So when I picked up my 87 2wd Ranger, it was bone stock. I wanted more clearance and bigger wheels. So I installed the Skyjacker 2” lift coil springs up front to have the baja look on my truck. I don’t want anything higher than that so not really looking to add more to it. But with that I bought some new 15” steel rims and some 31x10.50r15 BF AT’s. Looks bad ass, totally love the look and stance. Problem is a got a little fender rubbing. When turning the wheel hard front wheels hit the front bottom of the fender. Simple trimming should do just fine. Also looking to do a 2” fender trim around my rear fenders just in case I throw any weight in the bed. Would installing new struts help whatsoever and if not what other options do I have? Posting pics of truck.

If by struts you mean shocks, then they won't do anything for you. Shocks have nothing to do with ride height.

I would put some springs in the rear...

I think many with the first gens would do a body lift to clear 31's with no rub.

I also swapped the old chrome farmer mirrors for these more sleek looking black ones. Tinted the windows all around, blacked out the grille and swapped the old headlights for new black LED’s! Looks great in my opinion! Going to sand and paint the stock bumpers the same black next. Satin Black Everything!!

That won’t lift it too much in the rear? I’m going for the baja look.

baja look or not... you don't do something with it you will rub those nice tires all up.

The baja guys usually run flared fenders front and rear. You could always do that.

Were you able to get the front end aligned after the lift springs in the front? Cause it sure looks like you are gonna tear up the front tires too.

Definitely not enough clearance on those tires. You are either gonna need a body lift or flared fenders (not fender flares) to give those tires proper clearance.

Just got the springs in night before last. Still have to take it in to get an alignment but waiting to see what else I do to it before I do.

Definitely wouldn’t mind doing the flared fenders. Been looking to see what I can find.

87DR,

Is that a 4x4, ivwill's 4" brackets WILL clear your 31's and may give you enough rear rake for the rear 31's 🙄
