'87 nissan hardbody/pickup

own the above truck, with a 3.0 and 4x4 put a new motor in it few years back replaced a majority of the components. the question is what havent u fixed, not what have u fixed.

when we start it, it often acts like its gonna die but quickly picks up. it has nvr failed to start but it does this quite often, happens more in the cold i believe.

any suggested on what it is?

just rememberd that a few months back had a spare ranger 4.0 fuel filter runnin around, so we threw it on the nissan... im starting to think that this maybe be the problem? it is getting flooded, the nissan is carb'd
