'88 Nissan "850" D21 HardBody

So I started with the Rears bushings., seemed like the right place to start to me. The old bushings came out fairly easy. And boy, were they ready to be changed out

The bushings were stamped with part #'s, 9921,9922, & 9923. The 9921's were larger and obviously for the front, but the 9922's and 9923's seemed to be the same size, but I tried to keep like with like, and put the 9922's on the bottom, and 9923's on top. The tops slid right in with little force applied. The bottoms were a little more difficult. I eventually used a large C-clamp to squeeze the shackle through the bushings.

Old vs New

Adding gas struts to the hood ;
After several mock-ups, I have it complete. 2 struts.
So Here is what I did.
I bolted these home made brackets under the fender lip using 1/4-20 bolts and nuts. I used a 5/16' drill bit to drill the holes.

This is the lower bracket/Driver's side.

On the Uppers, I put the rod inside the hood hinge.

complete, no hood rod

When is the gtr swap?

So my old tires were from 2012 and super dry rotted. I had to search for a while before I found a "good" deal on a set of rims from a 2001 Nissan Frontier with tires that have about 50% tread left. He was asking $400 on FB Marketplace, but I offered $300 when I went to see them. One tire has a screw in the tread (still hold air) and the same rim has some damage. Looks like the caliper or something came off and dug into the aluminum. NOt a deal breaker by any means.
New rims in the bed

This is where it went, but I relocated it under the hood, on the DS fender, where all the Emissions stuff used to live. (No pic yet )

did you try the path for 87 or 88. they had 4 cylinder in them.

Does this have the sr20? The 1.8 pistons essentially drop right in for a good bump to compression.. coupled with a more aggressive cam profile, exhaust, Intake and tune would be right around 200hp.

NAPS-Z 24 IIRC.
