'85 Ranger Restomod


Modern rubber hose is real bad. I originally had two runs of low pressure rubber hose back there and the pressure side was so weathered that I could bend it and it would just break off. Mind you it was maybe 12-13 years old at most and it sat indoors for 75% of that time. EFI hose is way better - low pressure hose is basically designed to be black & round and that's about all.

Steel brake line was the cheapest and easiest for me so I used it. I had a heck of a time finding two inverted flare to barb fittings locally - online is a different story but that was by far the hardest part. The less rubber you can use, the better.
 
So, my 5.0l might have a return style system. While doing the cam synchronizer this morning, I looked at the fuel rail. It comes up along each row of injectors and doubles back. I can't see the back of the engune where the regulator and supplt line is. It's tight and crowded back there. So I don't really know for sure yet. I know my 3.0l just has a single tube going around to all the injectors.

something like THIS would be a good way to make new fuel lines...

I do have to say the marine rubber hose with a red stripe and the teflon liner on the inside is good stuff...
