Modern rubber hose is real bad. I originally had two runs of low pressure rubber hose back there and the pressure side was so weathered that I could bend it and it would just break off. Mind you it was maybe 12-13 years old at most and it sat indoors for 75% of that time. EFI hose is way better - low pressure hose is basically designed to be black & round and that's about all.

Steel brake line was the cheapest and easiest for me so I used it. I had a heck of a time finding two inverted flare to barb fittings locally - online is a different story but that was by far the hardest part. The less rubber you can use, the better.

So, my 5.0l might have a return style system. While doing the cam synchronizer this morning, I looked at the fuel rail. It comes up along each row of injectors and doubles back. I can't see the back of the engune where the regulator and supplt line is. It's tight and crowded back there. So I don't really know for sure yet. I know my 3.0l just has a single tube going around to all the injectors.

something like THIS would be a good way to make new fuel lines...

I do have to say the marine rubber hose with a red stripe and the teflon liner on the inside is good stuff...

That's super cheap for nylon line. At least compared to when I was looking for it at O'Reilly's several years ago. It was something stupid then like $10-ft with minimum purchase of a 100ft roll...

That is a dang good deal.

I don't know about all my connections though. The fuel filter, FPR and TB are all AN fittings.

I'm not really committed to anything in particular yet, this is what I currently have in my spreadsheet for the pressure line.

I'm not exactly sure why I have a strong dislike of AN fittings but I think it's just that you can't go to a parts store or anything and just get them... I have nothing against evil energy though, I've used their stuff before... in some applications AN makes sense, as long as it's robust it's fine I just wouldn't go out of my way to use it... I like quick connects and rubber or nylon more...

The more I work with quick disconnects, at least the automotive ones, the less I like them. Between the not wanting to release due to dirt and other things, and the plastic clips breaking, I am leaning more and more to liking the additional initial trouble of the AN fittings.

That's fair, on my '90 I temporarily shoved hoses over the barbs of the quick connect and put one clamp over the barb and another past it, well that was 15 years ago... on the list but if it ain't broke... :)
