I have the original bench seat in my 83 ranger and their getting really bad! I was wondering what my options for seats for my ranger. i was really looking for a bucket seat setup. is this possible for an 83 ranger.

Man I'm wanting to do the opposite with my 84 B2, want to put a bench seat in it rather than buckets. I'm guessing you could just install bucket seats out of a ranger or bronco 2, may have to drill new holes but I'm sure it would work just fine.

83-92 Ranger tracks out of a standard cab (extended cab was an option 86+)

There are two different front mountings, get the one that looks like yours. You will have to drill holes for the inside two mounts of each seat, mine already had the floor dimpled where the holes were supposed to be.

Once you have the tracks you can bolt on a bunch of different Ford seats, watch out because many higher back or thicker bucket seats start hitting the rear window and cutting down on legroom and steering wheel clearance. If you are a bigger guy (either taller or thicker) the bench is the best option for optimum room. I haven't bumped into a set I would sit in yet (usually really nasty) but I would guess factory standard cab bench seats would be second.

I started out with Explorer buckets, they hit the window bad. Now I have EB BII seats, they are thicker so they are still not perfect but are comfy and lower so they don't hit the window nearly as bad. If I could find a decent stock steering wheel and get rid of the heavily offset Grant I think it would be great.

over looked but is this a 2 wheel drive or four wheel drive??? the floor pan is different because of transfer case, if this is a four wheel drive you fab skills will be tested,,,,,the ford seat mounts can be used but you will find your sitting a lot higher,,,,, at six foot my head is very close to the headliner,,,,,, i shopped at the bone yard one day and sat in 20 cars took the ones that felt the best a good seat is worth every min you spend installing, there are a lot of rice burners that have good seats your dudeness

found a bench seat out of a 83 was in really go condition. how hard would it be to put something like this in my 93 ranger?

in my 88 reg cab 2wd I found some seat tracks from a 60/40 split bench at the junkyard( seats were toast due to an engine and dash fire) I got a screaming deal on some bucket seats from an s10 blazer.... they fit and pretty comfy for me....and there are dimples in the floor pan for drilling the back holes... you will need to drop the exhaust heat sheild on the pass side
