Yep! Pulled it out of the garbage once I realized 4” speakers wouldn’t fit in the stock locations so I had to see how the PO mounted them. I removed and replaced those speakers and lost the metal shavings in the process with a good cleaning. I forgot to take pics of the Clarions, but the pic is to illustrate the concept.

Does anybody in here have the measurements from screw hole to screw hole for an 87 ford ranger dash speakers? It’s my sons truck and he doesn’t live with me.

The use of a heat gin and 5 1/4” will fit fine and it dosed really effect the airflow

Another option is to gut the original speaker out and attach the new 4” speaker to the original rim. See pic attached.
This was a mod I found in my parts truck and used with my new Clarion speakers.

Yeah you just screw into the metal frame of the original speaker. Cut out the speaker part. Make sure your new one fits. Mark the hole locations and drill. Install new speaker. You can see the screws in the pic if you look through all the metal shavings. lol.
