how much of a difference was it from the c5/doubler to the 435/1356?

not really sure the gear ratio's in the 435 and 1356

I can't speak for the 435, the 1356 is 2.72:1

First gear in a 435 is 6.68:1

I have one in my Ranger along with a 205, 4.10s and 35's and it crawls pretty well in first gear.

The overall gearing is lower but you have less choices so it's a toss up.

Cant think of a reason, as long as it had the small block bell.

What is the spline count on the input shaft of a M50d-r6? Are they stronger than the 4.0L version? If they are not I'd find a ZF or T18-19. T19's are full syncro. The kits are $305 East of the Mississippi or $315 West of the Mississippi. Shipped usps parcel post.
