4.0 sohc proper temp

I have a 2006 4.0, I just put a new thermostat housing in with a motorad ultrastat 192 degree thermostat. Even though my thermostat is 192, for some reason my coolant temp stays between 180 and 185. I'm reading that number straight from the obd2. Is this normal for a 4.0? Is it technically better to be reading a little lower? Not even sure if it's an issue but just want some more opinions.

Mine always runs at 189° F. I did the metal thermostat housing and threw a motorcraft thermostat back in it.

I probably wouldn't worry about it, but I don't worry about most things.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about it being a little bit cool. Those readings come from different sensors, so that could be some of the difference.

One question; have any modifications been done to the hose circuit going to the heater core?

Nope the only thing I've done with the entire cooling system is an aluminum housing and the ultrastat thermostat, I kept the oem sensors as I don't trust the skp ones that came with the housing.
