I have a 2001 ranger with a 98 ford explorer 5.0 and a t5 transmission. It’s been on the road for a few months with no noticeable issues. It sat for about a month and then I noticed some engine rumbling and misfiring at higher rpm. I am experiencing a P0340 cam position sensor code so I replaced the sensor and even the alternator because I heard that could also be the issue. The code and its symptoms are still present. What’s my next step to diagnose and fix the issue? Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
