The 302 in the 85 revs like a 2 stroke on crack.But since i bought the 81 full size with the 351,I kinda wish i would have went 351 in the 85.
That motor has a pair of nads at lower rpm.

knew i'd get in trouble for even saying 350.but i've got one laying and waiting,but for another project down the road i think.reading all the stuff on here i'm going to do a 302 swap.would love to go big y block 390,but will do the 302 for now for the practice.if all goes well i'll start this winter.start getting up prices finding stuff needed.anybody have places to start looking for stuff to start the swap??hope i can be forgiven for saying...350.lol

GOOD MAN! i love the FE motors! someone wanting to do something different with their swap could do a 390 swap... they have good aftermarket support also! imagine a 390 with a solid cam, edelbrock med. riser heads, and dual quad intake with 2-425 propane mixers!
