hey everyone , i have a question ? would a 2000 3.0 ranger manual transmission , bolt right up to 2000 3.0 ranger that had a automatic in it , if i was to get the wiring harness and etc..?? how hard would it be and what all do i need?

I'm looking for the same answers you are, but from what I have read, it should bolt on. The drive shaft may/may not be different lengths. I read on a older ranger they were...i would double check.

I've also read that you CAN run it off the auto ECU but its not advisable. Its before 04 so you should be able to swap ecus no problem

from what I gather, you will need:
  • the bolt on pedal assemblies
  • Cut a hole in the plate on the tranny hump for the shifter
  • you will prob want to remove the PRNDL stick on the steering column and perhaps swap out the dash [If you have a donor vehicle you may want to swap out the steering column, but not mandatory]
  • Manual trans [kinda important :D]
  • clutch resivor and lines

"Everything is pretty much a bolt in procedure with no fabrication or modification of anything needed."

"I found the when I did mine it went alot smoother installing a piece here and a piece there. For example, I installed the clutch pedal assembly, then followed that by the clutch resivour and lines. Cut out the hole in the floor. It took me about 3 months from the time I started swapping to actually having the trans in and shifting gears. But to do it all in a week or a couple days, might be a little harder/stressful."

In addition to what rebelkid listed, you'll want the ECU and driveshaft from the manual trans truck. As well as a clutch master cylinder. If the truck has PATS, then the steering column, key and ECU will have to be from the same vehicle.
I'd check to make sure your truck has a clutch pedal position sensor tucked under the dash before you start. Some auto trucks had them, and others (like mine) don't. Having it will make things much easier, but it's possible to wire one in from a donor truck.
