Alright, after some major set backs, the 5.0 is up and running. My new injectors proved to be leaking down (Thank's Oreilly's). Sourced up some new Bosch injectors and they seemed to do the trick.
The major issue was an oil leak right from the start. Couldn't tell if it was rear main, oil pan gasket or what. Dude from the machine shop was super cool about it and did everything he could, and then some, to correct the issue. 100 miles or so and still dry underneath.
Exhaust came out pretty decent. It's a dual in dual out Flowmaster Super 44. It sounds really nice from the outside, but with all the sound deadening mat and the thick pile carpet with the heavy rubber backing, it is hardly noticeable in the cab.
All electronics work. Message center, overhead console, EATC, power door locks, power mirrors, heated power seats, steering wheel controls, selectable 4x4, everything functions as it should. Somehow, it even has automatic headlights now. It was an interesting and challenging task, but a success none the less.
The transmission shifts like a dream. The SUV rear axle is spot on. The brakes are perfect. Can't tell if it is due to the rear discs or if the SUV brake booster made the difference. Maybe some of both.
Still need to get the a/c dryer installed and charge the system. Back up camera needs some alterations The radio and all amplifiers are fired up and sound pretty good. Need to do some fine tuning with the DSP. All in due time.
It sure is fun to drive!!!
Question though, I now have a plethora of information (wiring schematics, connector pinouts, spreadsheets of said pinouts, spreadsheets of what to put where to make all of this work). Should I post all of this on here somewhere?
