2022 Ford Maverick

That would definitely be fun. Exploding transmissions are always fun to watch...

Thought the engines were already boosted? Been a while since I looked at the specs, but doesn't seem like Ford is making too many non-turbo engines anymore.

It's most likely going to get the 1.5 or 2.0 ecoboost and the 8 speed crapmatic transmission.

1.5 I3 is the base engine with the option for a 2.0 I4. Same as the BS. (that's all I'm ever going to call the BroncoSport from now on)

So basically all you need to know is this. My fiesta has a bigger engine than this "truck". :icon_rofl:

The problem with unit body construction is they usually base it off a FWD car so it comes with a bunch of car-grade parts.

Unit body construction would be ok for a truck if it was intended to be a truck from the onset.

The old Comanche was a pretty good truck and it was unibody.
Comanche couldn't decide what it was: Cab forward was unibody, Box back was body on frame. If you wanted flatdeck, have at it.

I was hoping for similar for the Maverick - ditch the fancy car suspension and give us a a frame with leaf springs and live axle . Fancy coils and struts take up too much cargo capacity and Maverick doesn't have space to waste. It would have helped its street creed as a truck, not a "lifestyle" vehicle.

Work wise, not many are expecting much from the Maverick. Because of this, the expected size, and it's looks; I see it becoming a friend to many owners.

Like all Fords it eventually ends up with duct tape.. Only this one comes with it from the factory!

I thought the whole idea behind this thing was to make a small cheap fleet truck. Looks like they started that way but then fired whoever was in charge of that plan, and the new guy just got drunk and threw crayons at the blueprints...

I thought you worked for the Navy?!

I think I'm the head of Naval intelligence now?

I got to pick what kind of cereal they bought last month... I went with cinnamon toast crunch. I realize the obvious choice was captain crunch, the jokes are almost limitless, but that crap cuts the roof of my mouth! The pentagon will hear about this!!!!
