I was going to say that the connectors inside were loose. I've seen that on frame rail fuel pumps. In fact i think every truck I've owned that had a frame rail pump with loose connectors. Pretty easy fix. I feel that over time and vehicle vibrations they all get loose to a degree. Some worse than others. I have a 93 that the main under dash connector fried. Loose connectors = heat.
