Back in a ranger and back to the best website for ranger tech. I have a 2005 Ranger 4 door extended cab 4.0 FX4 with 67k on the clock . Troubleshooting a flash to pass issue. Flash to pass works fine with the lights off as in sitting in front of the garage door, I pull back the turn signal lever and brights light up the door. As soon as I turn the headlights on the flash to pass no longer functions. Anyone have any idea? The only thing I can think of is either the multifunction (blinker) switch or the light switch. If it was a bad switch why does it work with the lights off though? Doesn't matter if the truck is running or not. Same results.

check the owners manual.
the low current board may have something to do with it.

Looking at that diagram, the flash to pass just passes through that module through a fuse. It branches off for DRL but I do not have those or they are disabled. Plus with the lights off it passes through fine so I know the fuses are fine.

I agree. I don't see a way for the drl or low circuit board to cause your issue. Something is wrong in the multifunction switch.
