hi all -

have a 2010 xlt xcab ranger 2.3l auto and need to replace my front shocks....i went to 3 auto parts stores and the only replacement shocks they have are about an inch shorter than the oem shock for some reason..has any one else run into this problem and did you find a solution?...appreciate any help ..thanks

i have a- arm suspension not torsion bar

the 2010s had a few chassis differences from earlier models, plus Ford uses a different upper bushing than some aftermarket. did you measure the difference in lengths with the upper bushings installed? extended and collapsed lengths?

quick question, what size are your front rotors? I'm guessing they are 11.25".
I'm searching for a way to put 12" up front on a coil spring setup.

yes I have 11.25....only thing i measured is overall shock length and the oem is exactly 18" long and all the after market ones seem to be coming in at 17 so its frustrating to say the least....the aftermarket gabriel etc are trying to make a shock that fits 2003 on and like you said their are some small differences in the 2010 i have...but I need to find a solution

try fordparts-dot-com, use your VIN number to find the Ford/Motorcraft part #, then try to cross reference.

the front shocks for my '05 (coil) are supposed to be 13.65" extended.
