There are definitely a few options when it comes to the wiring and I would say it honestly depends on how far or what features you want to have added to the Ranger. Unfortunately for myself I want to have all the options which means more work for myself.
By this I mean the Explorer came with a range of options when it came to their seats. The driver and passenger in most cases were power but it there was an option for manual and power lumber and heated seats also. I was lucky enough to have sets from Limited Explorers that had all the options for both driver and passenger.
To start the power option on the driver Mustang seat isn't worth trying to splice and make work. So I removed that wiring harness completely and threw it away. Included in that was part of the power lumber the driver Mustang seat. You don't need that wiring as I mentioned the Explorer had it as well so it already wired and they are same connectors. so is plug and play on the wiring side. The passenger seat I am still working on adding the power lumber because I have take the seat fully apart but since it was an option for the driver seat I know I can get it to work.
The next step was to get the metal center support installed. Because it fits exactly the same as the Explorer I used JB Weld and got it in place and let it cure. I would honestly want it welded but I don't have that as an option. JB Weld will though work fine cause it only needs to hold the wires and metal center support fits snug. You could honestly not do this part and zip tie and the wiring from the Explorer to the Mustang seats but I couldn't let myself do that when a factory look was a possibility.
After I got the wiring in place I had to make a hole in the leather for the power adjust buttons to go through. On the last picture in the previous post you can see it to the left. I thought I was going to have to drill a hole but some how again the Mustang frame was a perfect match and there was a hole already there to pass the buttons through. After this connect all the connectors to the right one (the heated seats won't be connected because they need to have the seats apart) and wire the seats to 12V power source or per the standard Explorer seat swap directions and you will have full power Mustang seats in a Ranger!
