2006 FX4 Daily / Offroad Build

The next thing to go over is the seats for the truck.

First the rear seats were removed to give more room for something. Not sure yet but want to explore more storage or the sub mount. I really want to keep the floor available. That's for way down the line though.

In one of the first post pictures of the Explorer Limited I pulled from the junkyard was shown and in some of the more recent post the seats might have been seen actually installed.

Well it has been an ongoing process because it was my initial goal to swap over the electric tracks, lumbar support and heated elements to the Ranger seats. While I knew back then the Explorer seats were better all around, I really was trying to figure out how to keep the Ranger as factory looking for items from the Ranger. This ended up being a lot time and effort with not the results I was looking for.

So been riding around in half bolted in Explorer seats and for the last year or so I have a single wire from the battery to the seats while I figure out the wiring and how I want to power them permanently.

Showing the attempt of trying to get the Explorer elements transferred to the Ranger seats. The reason I wanted to use the Ranger seats is because they are in way better condition also and to try to avoid the cost of upholstery.

I do think it would be possible and I did get the electric tracks attached but in the end it was becoming unnecessary work. With enough time and some fab work it could be done but since I don't have as much time as I thought for the project and also no welder the end decision was to just use the Explorer seats.
