2000 3.0 Auto Starter Motor Mounting Bolt

Hi everyone,

Anyone know the size of the bolts used for mounting the starter motor? Thread pitch, diameter, length?

I tried removing all three but they’re on there quite well and I was using a 12pt socket so I rounded off two of them.

I’m looking to get replacements before I start extracting them. Can’t get them off to reference them and I’m having trouble finding anything online.

I know they are metric, lol.

Beyond that, I don’t know, never replaced the starter on my 3.0 yet.

Pretty sure they are coarse thread metric though. Not my F-150 though, those threads were metric but they got messed up and I tapped them to the nearest size up which was SAE thread, lol. I forgot about that until the last time I changed the starter in an Autozone parking lot, lol. I went under with the starter an metric tools only to figure out that I switched, lol.

2000 3.0 Ranger 4WD Auto

Those bolts are a 13 socket. I learned years ago that the alternator bolts are the same as the starter bolts. Any yards near by..you can get those from a 3.0 ranger or from a 4.0 explorer or 4.0 ranger.
