My credo
built her in a storage unit
what are the similarities and differences between a bronco ii’s exhaust and a rangers exhaust? the manifold/headers? in my 90 ranger are cracked in multiple places but the ones off a 90 bronco ii in the yard are in very good condition other than that i haven’t looked under the truck to see how they differ from each other, both have the infamous 29 under the hood.

I looked both vehicles up on rockauto. They sell new exhaust manifolds and they seem to both use the same numbers, left is 674222 and right is 674221. Don't go to the junkyard and pay more than new, they are around $75.00 new and then you need to add shipping to that.

To my knowledge all 2.9 manifolds are the same

alright thank you for the info, now that i have you here do either of you know where the evap purge valve is on a 2.9??

On the hose going to the canister if it has one

it has a hose going to a steel line then another hose when it gets to the fuel tank but i can’t seem to find the damn thing is it on the one to the intake or the one to the fuel tank?

This not totally on for a 2.9....

Canp was not on all 2.9

If yours a maf model?

no it’s the MAP model and it has a canister, just can’t seem to find the purge valve lol

Yeah. Not all have a purge solenoid.

It's pin 11 or 31....and not a big thing before 89

so it’s possible the 1990 doesn’t have one?

Likely it don't....I don't remember them having one....but the 3.0 did. One of the things to mod using that pcm for maf conversion.

But my memory not always right.

2.9 was straight captain cavepig...tube goes from charcoal can to a fitting by throttle body

That's the way my 86 was. You can easily see it. On the drivers side there is a plastic line that goes from the canister to a fitting under the throttle body. The airflow through the throttle body purged the canister any time the engine was running.
