i have a set sitting in my garage but they seem huge when they are in the truck so ive never mounted them.

They are not ideal and my aftermarket steering wheel doesn't help, but they do work.

I've got the exact same wheel, i've been contemplating modifying mine so it doesnt stick out so far. my arms are to long for it to be like that

One way to upgrade the gen 1 interior is to do the 89-94 dash swap. I have been toying with the idea of doing this.

As far as having tilt steering, wish that my truck had it but doing the dash swap requires the getting of the steering column which more or less has tilt.

As far as the floor, I put underbodt spary on mine and it wore off where my feet make contact so I have to redo that. I didnt replace all of my floor borads (well I did) but all i did was cut out the bad stuff and then took good floor boards out of another ranger that I cut out and just welded it on the older ones but made sure that what it was all welded to was good metal.

I prefer the 1st generation dash :secret:

I want to keep the first Gen dash, maybe i'll switch columns to get tilt someday. Did the Underbody Spray quiet down the noise any??? i have to turn the radio Way up just to hear it while im driving.

no it didnt kill noise at all. Best way to do that is have a leak free exhaust system, something that my truck lacks but is fine with me. My dads old 84 was quiet after fixing the leaks in his. I just put headers on mine and love the nice hollow sound that they give so exhaust noise is something i love now. But one way i cover up the noise is to turn my sub on.

I too like the look of my gen 1 dash but it is getting harder to find one in good condition and mine is starting to show its age. I will say that my bucket seats are nicer then the bench seat that it had.

do NOT change the first gen dash in a first gen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'll disown you! lol hahahahaha

main thing i did is make sure everything is clean and rip free. painted dash pad. painted the "fake woodgrain" gauge facing thing to black... new headliner. so on.

the towel over my seat is b/c of my habit of getting in w/ grease and crap on my pants. i usually take my outer shirt off, so i don't need it where my back hits.

What buckets did you use???

They are the 60/40 seats. My dad put them in years ago when he had the truck. I will say they are nice but when I drive my truck for awhile or really any vehicle, my lower back just kills me so I need to find better ones that can support my lower back.
