LMC has them in black, probably going to be tough to find one in decent shape at a junkyard.

I don't like mine, it doesn't breathe. So if water gets around the edges (or if there is a hole worn in it like mine) it is there forever. When I get to that point I am probably going to bedline the floor and get carpet.

as above. rubber mats hold the moisture under them and eventually rust out the floor. i'd go with the herculiner and as many coats as you want. mine is bed lined and it's great.
in addition, i have an old carpet remnant and i cut off pieces to fit the floor and put them in over the bed liner. i change them a couple times a year. winter here really trashes floor coverings and it's easier just to throw out the old pieces and put in new. they also help deaden the sound and insulate from the cold.
just a thought.

well, the floor is already starting to rot, its got a coulpe little holes in it already, thats why im starting to lean away from bedliner

Remove the rust and bedline it anyway, then put whatever over the top.

$150 for vinyl flooring in LMC, 90 for Rubber, ill go check out a couple junkyards and see what i come up with.

im not sure how to go about removing the rust, i have a new drivers side floor pan but the rust is further back than the pan will cover.

still need to know how to fix the rust that is where the seat mounts, also did anyone figure out a set of buckets to use in a reg. cab first gen, the ex seats dont give me enough room.

Dunno about the rust, maybe just form plain sheetmetal to fit :icon_confused:

Looking in my '85 brochure trucks with standard cabs and buckets were lowback, I suppose they would have similar geometry to a benchseat. Eddie Bauer BII's had neat lowbacks (IMO) but I couldn't find one when I needed to.

For that matter I couldn't find any factory lowback tan seats in the local yards that didn't look like they had been attacked by a pack of rabid raccoons. :shok:

cut and/or grind out all the rust. weld in new sheet metal covering up the hole. if you don't weld, i suppose you could try to either screw or pop rivet the new floor in, but welding is the best option. you can reinforce areas where the seats mount up with bracing extending from the frame rails perhaps. then cover it all with self-etching primer (since it is new sheet metal), paint/bed line it and then floor covering of your choice.
also, make sure you cover all the bare metal from underneath with primer then paint or undercoating so it doesn't start to rust again from that side.

well, im going to bedline the floor, but im still stuck on finding a set of low back bucket seats.

I'd have to give my left nut for a decent 65 mustang seat around here :bawling::bawling:

Not a sacrifice im willing to make:icon_twisted:

Not to mention you would likely need two seats... :shok:
