1999 Ranger 4x4 lights flashing

I drove my Ranger the other day on pavement in 4HI for several miles before seeing what I'd done. Now the 4HI / 4LO lights flash several times every few minutes. Fuses check out. What else to check?

i always go into reverse for 20-30 feet to make sure all the torque is taken off the front hubs, etc. when shifting out of 4wd and back into 2wd. i'm old and you used to have to do that with the old Warn automatic hubs i had on Scouts.
you might give that a try and see if it helps.

That's done every time I back off the carport. It's got to be something else...

i had the same thing......in my case it was the hubs not unlocking check this out.....
