1996 Ranger aka "The Pre-Runger" (56k Warning)

Never sacrifice safety because you don't have the money. If you don't have the money, don't build it.

That's why my truck will be going into storage once I find a good priced Subaru. When I get the money, he'll come out of retirement and I'll be able to build it up into a decent daily driver/offroader. And along the way (the next couple years) I will be collecting parts to put on it. Once I get them all collected, I'll start building.

My suggestion to you, would be to keep using the stock tires that you have on it. Once you get enough money upgrade your front and rear axles, or get new rims, spend it and get what you desire. Until then, there is no safe and budgeted way to create your truck right away. Trust me, I feel your pain. :D

I went down this road, f150 coil spacers, and 2" wheel spacers, to clear 31's. I bought 2 2" wheel spacers off ebay and drove pretty hard on them with no problems, everyone I knew thought I was crazy, but I took my wheels off and inspected them regularly and never used a impact gun on them. now I have 4.5 wider I beams and extended radius arms. I would not recomend wheel spacers and would not sell mine to anyone in case they failed.

Shouldn't have gone mustang wheels in the first place...

shit even lowered guys need to run a small spacer for them to clear the dust cap.

you can get steel wheels relativly cheap and you probably could sell the mustang wheels to recoop some if not all the money you spend on steel wheels.

id be willing to bet that you could sell the mustang wheels, buy used steel wheels and you will make money

but 17"?? and at least 8" wide? i dont know if i could get 17x8 or something up to 10"? that will have enough clearance to turn?

i dont know, what backspacing would i need? and also, ill look for some once i find out what i need, and if you guys find some, let me know. THANKS!!

LOOK EM UP!

Youll need about 4" backspace with a 9" wheel....keep it in that ball park.

4.5 little too sucked in on a 8" rim. What's the width of those tires? Or how about the tire size? If it's a 12.50ish tire, you'll want to find a 9-10" rim and about a 4-4.5" backspace. Or a 8" rim with 3.25-3.75" backspace or so. 4.5 on an 8 is a little sucked in and it'll be about in the same spot your tires are now. Won't look good with flared fenders.

Best I can find while keeping in mind the price, is a little give/take one....17x9 w/ 5" BS....still's gonna be sucked in a little bit, but wont look overly bad with flared fenders because the width is bigger.... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-3458912/

err....I like that style I linked...I have 'em now. lol. Here's the Soft 8's...

I like the Windows! I think i might settle for that one. We'll see. I gotta unmount the cobras, and paint them all black to sell em for maybeeee $300. Anhyone interested? :icon_thumby: lol
