1996 Ranger aka "The Pre-Runger" (56k Warning)

how much are you planning on selling it for?

just FYI, its a budget build for now. I have a 1972 Super beetle with several mods, slammed and running that ima sell for out $5k. If that happens, then im going to buy a good lift kit, the prerunner bedsides, fix all the odds and ends and of course, lots of engine goodies. :thefinger:

ill sell the coils for 60 bucks. if you get $5k to put into it look on race-dezert.com and get yourself a long travel setup for the front! Thats the best way to go! :) well good luck on the build man. message me if you have any ?'s.

I forgot to update yesterday on what I had done.

I painted the drivers side panel with red primer, and it started to sprinkle outside. ruined it. Sanded it all off and re did it. Than I primered the other side, let them dry and wet sanded it. Now i need that red bondo to fill in those tiny crack it has.

Im thinking about painting the whole car myself. Its a long process but hey, im saving myself about $500. Illspray paint the primer, and then ill just ask my neighbor for the spray gun he has to give it a basecoat.

If you were wondering, your stock paint code is EG and that's Electric Currant Red. It appears that you have some bad clear coat issues though.

yeah, my paint is worn out a bit. No biggie though. I think with time and patience, i can pull off a spray paint job. Ill need lots of wetsanding though.

Ill post pics of the truck soon.

and ive also heard of those horror sories as well, but no one ever knows the person it happens to. so im kinda skeptical on the fact that they are bad. they are cnc machined billet. i dont see whats bad about that.

I know the person it has happened to...it was me cruising at about 75 mph when my driver side rear wheel passed me on the highway. I STRONGLY suggest you reconsider. Oh and if you're wondering the lugnuts on the spacers stripped right out and all 5 backed off until it popped off.

hm, well then what do you suggest i get? I am going to need some sort of spacer or a longer axle or something.

Yeah, I'd look for a different rim with the backspacing/offset you need. I didn't even have time to be scared, when it happened both mine and my buddy's jaws just dropped and he goes "No way did that just happen". Trust me, looking for the wheel you just lost a 1/4 mile up the road back in thorn bushes is not something you want to experience.

ive heard of people putting the dana 44 ttb in the 4wd trucks could u put the 2wd version of the dana 44 in ur ranger for width?

again, a dana is too much money and so are new rims to match my tires.

its worth about $104.75

jk :thefinger:

Yeah I know, but do you think extended radius arms would work or very high quality (and expensive) spacers? How about going and doing something crazy like spot welding the original studs to the spacer?

Recipe for disaster man. Cruise some classified ads or craigslist, you'll find something.

theres no type of bracket or budget way to space them out. New rims is out of the question
