1993 Splash in SC

I think there are better options then Rustoleum.
Go ahead and recommend. I really haven't researched it yet. There was a thread covering this recently. But I need to find it.

My requirements are impossible, so compromise is inevitable - durable, easy to apply, inexpensive.

I totally understand...

I've used the Rustoleum stuff a few times. Even with really good prep work it never adhered very well and looked pretty faded after a year or so.

I know when I do the Bronco II... sometime in the future... I'm going to use Dura-bak.

So pumped to see this all done.

What are you going to paint it with?

I'm relatively sure your inspiring me to build a flatbed for my squarebody 😈

I would use Rust-Oleum heavy rust primer....and the commercial epoxy...

Or.....epoxy primer and summit single stage paint.

I'll be using monstaliner on the squarebody. Everything I've read says it's a real good product.

Paint only for me....easily stripped...easily maintained.....

That's rust belt....you have options.

Yesterday, I finally picked up this piece of 3" x 4" steel tubing from my cousin's FIL. 1/4" wall. It's pocked up a bit. But I think it will be fine. It just wontlook "brand new" when finished. I think today is bumper building day.

You're funny. That's body work. I hate body work. This is a rock bashing bumper. It will be fine.

Progress being made.

Supposed to hit 60's today. Only reason I'm wearing long sleeves is protection from welding burns.

Might want to do something so you don't need the jack stands. I don't think they would be very trail friendly. The C-Clamps probably won't stay in place long either...

One more hour and there will be new pictures without Jackstands or C-clamps. This is going well.

Bumper is ready for painting.
