1993 Splash in SC

I think I figured out some more shape to this bumper. The top flat part will taper from 6" at the top of the angle to 4" out by the corner. Then the front face will be shaped roughly like the cardboard- 5" tall near the winch and 3" tall out at the corner. Whatcha think?

This is all custom work, of course, but it is beginning to look more like a traditional 4WD rig, more like a jeep, international harvester, or an older model Land Rover Defender. Nice work!

I like it. You gonna cut some lights holes or anything into those panels?

All the lights will be up above, out of harm’s way. I found some recovery points I want to weld in. But they’re $53 each at Barnes 4x4. Might wait a month or so. Although, I’ll be driving right by their place in my way to LBL. I could arrange pickup and avoid shipping cost. I think I could find a discount code, too. Through Matt’s Off-road Recovery or Bleeping Jeep. That might knock 10% off.

I think this os going to work. It's been a frustrating day, so far. I haven't gotten it perfectly symmetrical from side to side. So, a bracket that I duplicated doesn't work right. I have to re-do that. And then there is another piece I have made twice and it still isn't right. On the other hand, the rain from the hurricane hasn't started yet and the amount I'm supposed to get keeps getting reduced.

Your garage looks more cluttered than mine.
Looks bad in the midst of progressing projects. Most of that will clean up quickly. The only vehicle I park in there is the motorcycle, currently sporting a flat tire under the green tarp.

Of course. I tell those kinds of things to my wife.

All snark aside, I'm working on 2 of my own projects while my friends also come over and do the same.

If you’re looking for cheaper clevis mounts these are nice. $35 for a pair https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0842BNPSN?tag=959media-20

I have a pair I welded on top my tractor bucket for pulling and lifting. Made in USA. Really nice finish, they guy even beveled the edges so you can’t just weld them on without any prep work.

Well, it looks like the Ranger can go to Kentucky next week. Not much visual progress. But I finalized my design for all the light brackets and supports. I have a little bit left to finish on the driver side. Passenger side is done.

I have Monday afternoon and Tuesday to work on it. So I'll finish the driver side lighting brackets. Then, I'll remove the bumper and stabilize it by filling in between tack welds as much as I have time for. Then reinstall the bumper and winch and install all the lights. Then, mow the lawn, go grocery shopping and pack for the LBL trip. I can do most of the packing Wednesday morning and get on the road around noon.

Ready enough for the trip. There is still some welding, cleanup and, of course, painting to be done. But here it is. I also sold the F150 today.
