Knuckles should be the same for any D-35, which means 1990 Bronco II, 1991-1994 Explorer, and 1990-1997 Ranger with a 4.0, although the 3.0 got a hybrid axle which had D-35 beams and knuckles, but the inner axle shafts are necked down to D-28 splines in the diff because there is D-28 guts in there. Not sure what year they stopped that, if they did.
Interesting. I don’t think steering stops are too much of a problem, I’ve actually been thinking of welding a small plate on my axle beams for a stop. You should know that 95-97 Ranger had different brakes and steering stops. They do work, just have to get everything and you lose the steering stops. (Could be dangerous I guess if you turn the wheel too far while rolling? I haven't had a problem.)
