I got this truck just under a year ago. Got it running and have been going through it bit by bit and using it on weekends to run around town. Started having some stalling issues, seemed to be lack of fuel. Decided I should just go through fuel system. This truck has pump in tank, reservoir with filter, high pressure pump, then another canister type fuel filter. I changed canister filter and some nasty black gas came out. Changed high pressure fuel pump, changed fuel filter in reservoir and it was filthy and had black sediment on bottom. I finally got around to changing sending unit and in tank pump. If you look at photo, hose from pump to gas line is just gone. Maybe it was super rotted and when I took it out bumped it and it disintegrated? Is it possible the truck could run without it? I also fished this 1" od piece of rubber hose out of the tank. It was just sitting in there. Any idea what it could be from?
Other than little bits of junk on bottom of tank, it does not look too bad. I ran out of containers so getting the rest of the fuel out will have to wait until tomorrow. Then I was just going to wipe out the tank the best I can and put the new fuel pump and sending unit in.
