1986 ranger fuel sending unit

whats up guys, i was wondering if you have to drop the fuel tank to remove the sending unit on a 86 long bed reg cab, or can you just take the bed off. thanks, eric

Probably easier to take the bed off. There are only six bolts. Dropping the tank entails getting it almost empty and having to work underneath whereas with the bed removed everything is on top and chances of messing something up is greatly reduced.

It's much easier to just remove the bed. Plus a lot easier than having to roll around on the floor messing with everything under the truck.
