Got towed the other day because my starter finally gave up the ghost. The solenoid gets stuck in the forward position & fails to return once the engine is running. It started for the last time & is sitting in the driveway waiting for my garage queen (84 Ramcharger) project to back out & park outside for a day.

Question for the group....what brand is a decent one these days for a 4.0 auto, 4wd? I wish I could find an OEM rebuilt & not "new" china made one. Even rebuilt OEM in china I'd consider.

Watching many vids about some tricks like disco'ing the wiring up top initially, & dropping the front diff or raising one side of the engine, and disco'ing the tranny cross member is another way. Now I know why it's most likely the original.
