05 Edge V8 Swap


I can't wait to see the whole write up on it i have a 05 i want to do a v8 in just don't know what v8 yet 5.0? 5.7? 4.6? or 5.4?
 
Well currently my brother has my Ranger bc his car is in the shop getting fixed. :annoyed: On the 11th I am going back down to Pete's shop to hopefully button everything up, take pics and complete the right up. My brother took it over to a friends house that is a huge gear head and he said they were giving me mad props for doing this. It is not about me wanting to be a bad ass (bc I am already 100% awesome) it was about being able to do damn near anything I want with my Ranger whenever I want.

I need to update my show off thread as well but I am on call and have a ticket already this morning to going fix something on the other side of town. :icon_thumby:

Best advice if you are going with the Torque Monster headers is order them as early as you can. Yes they are expensive but everyone loves them other than that.

that was the plan. i've got just enough money to go ahead and order them, but was going to wait till my next paycheck just to be safe in case something comes up.

Dan, that was one of the last five they had. Everyone gets to a point with the new increase in power ,they get used to it and wants more. With the Explorer motor that kind of limits you to a centricifal blower like Bob R has on that great looking truck of his. Just want to warn you that the more power you want, the price goes way up per HP. Almost two years ago, I did the forged bottom end and bigger blower on my Stang, gained 150HP but at a really big cost. Think and choise wisely!

Since this motor is the same as the 93-94 Cobra, in theory a supercharger for that motor should work right?
 
I'm just wondering if or what slight differences there are in the front dress. Maybe the pulleys are further out/closer in on the Explorer because of the dampener with built in pulley. Sure think someone would have done it by now. I know the one Dan has is a hybryd between the M90 and the M62, snout being the difference I believe. He's at the strip today trying out all his new parts.
