So right now i have a single shallow mount on a single cab ranger. The other one comes tomorrow!!!! yay!!! The box i have now is 1/2 mdf but i just bought 3/4 mdf to build a new one so that both fit. So i was wondering if the thickness made much of a difference. So does it? Thanks!!!!!!!

it will be a lot more rigid... and withstand more pressure without becoming loose over time..

short answer, yes it's better, and worth it in the long run.

I've been reading about thicknesses and the general consensus is that the 3/4 will improve durability by quite a bit.

Sound quality may not improve by leaps and bounds so if you are REALLY tight on space or have a lower powered woofer, maybe.

3/4 is specifically recommended on the subwoofer mounting surface, and hell I've heard suggestions of using double thickness in this area.

Durability counts in the long run :icon_thumby:

it will make a difference, but 1/2" is acceptable for low power aplications,
