Whenever I get my Ranger on the road, it always starts with the clutch problems. Today it began to vibrate the clutch pedal when engaging the clutch in any gear (unless you have speed) and making a grinding noise. Since this is my DD for the moment, I'd like to ask what could cause it?

If I need to remove the trans to fix it, I will be doing a 4.0 clutch.

Well I'm not sure about your grinding noise. But the clutch pedal vibrating is generally caused by the master cylinder not being bolted tight.

Maybe the master is dead? When the line was disconnected I did push it down. It didn't feel right.

On a side note. Changing oil on Ford Fusions suck.

Well, I think I got a bad clutch. It is slipping. It grabs off and on sometimes which is causing a noise and possibly the vibration. After the hurricane and I stop feeling like crap, a friend and I are going to replace the clutch again in my garage. This time, a 4.0 clutch setup. Should I replace the slave while I am there? What clutch would you guys recommend?

Replace the slave any time you take the trans out.

Is there a reason for this? I was going to pull my trans this weekend to fix what I think is a leaking core plug. Do I need to replace the slave?

It is a PITA to change if it goes bad on its own, one of this "while you are there" things.
