I had a couple Rangers in the past, this one came to me on more interesting circumstances. I was driving my F250 to Baltimore and hit a hellacious pothole in an industrial area that snapped my leaf spring hanger and sent the leaf spring up through the bed. Parts I needed weren't available for a week. A buddy down the street scraps cars and he had this 2.5 4 cylinder 2000 Ranger sitting behind his house with plans to make a dirt track racer out of it. They had only run it in the driveway and knew nothing about it and I was able to snag it for $400
They had already scrapped the exhaust and catalytic converter so I cobbled together a exhaust system out of a few autozone parts on a Sunday afternoon so i could get to work in it Monday morning. 18 months and 40k miles later it is still chugging along, has been to Maine towing a small u-haul trailer and to Kentucky towing my 15' boat.
I've become better at loading up a small truck as the years go by and with the 7' bed it seems I can put as much in as I need to.
