So i recently bought a 94 ranger and to my disappointment I found out after i got it that it had a hybrid 35.:bawling: So I was wondering if anyone knew what gear ratio they come with. I was told it was 3.73, but then i was told it could also be 4.10. I know i can check the stamp on it but its gone, so I cant do that. Also I have read that Dana28 gears wont fit and neither will Dana35 gears. Is this true:icon_confused:, and if so where can i get some gears that will work. I am also wondering if it would hold up with 33s or 35s.
Any info anyone could give me would be great.:icon_thumby:

Your best bet is to swap it to a "real" D35. Fortunately this is pretty easy, all you have to do is swap the hybrid chunk out for an actual D35 chunk (be sure you also have the two axle shafts that enter into the chunk, the D35's have a much larger spline on them).

The D28/35 axle I wouldn't trust with more than 31" tires on it honestly.

For your gear ratio, check the axle code that's on the sticker on your driverside door. Then reference it here:

Additionally, you can check the tag on your rear axle. The front would have to match.

Hope that helps :icon_thumby:
