What years have opening rear doors?

Hey y'all. Been a super long time ! I hope y'all haven't been driving the staff crazy.

Hope all is well with everyone. I've been looking for a 2008 - 2011 4cyl 5speed ext Cab with opening rear doors. I prefer 2wd and it doesnt need to be XLT or better.

All of the ones I'm finding are 4x4 XLT.

Where is the step off point to get a "four" door Ranger?

Half way through the 1998 year the 4 door rangers appeared, offered on the SuperCab and Cab Plus

I could be wrong on this, but I think the 4 cylinder was never offered with the 4 door extended cab, only the regular cab and 2 door extended cab.

I suspected as much. I want the 4 cyl for the fuel economy. Miata is too harsh for daily and the Hemi Jeep only gets 20 hiway on a good looooong drive.

I may be just plain stuck with a 2 door Ranger.

If you are getting 20 mpg with the Jeep, then why get a 4 banger Ranger? Drive the Jeep and spare your wallet of buying something used that you might have to put money into it?

I need another vehicle. She takes the Jeep - I need something other than the Miata. If I'm going to buy another vehicle, because I need it, I'm getting something I can use.

I'm not spending 10-15000 dollars on a vehicle just to save 3 dollars at the pump. I need another vehicle.

The info on the 4 door cabs above is correct.

4 banger Ranger only get mid 20's highway.

Nope. Miata is more racecar than daily. I need something I can get in and out of comfortably.

Insurance isnt much of an issue... I'm old with no accidents and no tickets that count in like 15 years.

correct, a co-worker had a 98 2wd 4dr 4cyl.

Not true, there just rare. a friend of mind has a 98 2.5l 4cyl 5 speed 2wd extended cab with the rear opening door. he seems to be getting 28 mpg on the highway without a shell, with a heavy shell hes been getting 24 mpg.

Yes, 1997 and older Rangers could be had 4 cyl with 4wd. 1998 and newer 4 cylinders were only 2wd.
