I want a 4bt ranger badly and close on selling my house this week so I actually have money to buy one.

I can't build one myself so my options are buy a built one, or pay a friend a decent rate to do a swap for me. So I'm guessing close to 10k for a build?:icon_confused:

How much would you say this exact truck is worth in your opinion? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYspEyXUxn4

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
5500 if the 4x4 works and it easily pulls 24-25 mpg at 65-70 mph.

if its 20 or less 3000

those are the biggest vibrating pos in the world.

i just looked at a couple for 1800 bux. but i dont have the cash at the moment.

what are your needs for this? i think i can pull it off for 3500 with a 1800 doner.

He want's 12k for it and claims 30mpg. MPG seems a little high to me. Mabey with 4.56s.... Has an ATS trans for whatever thats worth. There's no way In the world I could get one for 5500 having to pay for labor. I can't find a 4bt for less than $2500 and I'd want to pay at least that on a nice doner.

If it was 10k and actually got 30mpg I'd seriously be thinking about buying it.

I just need a truck for work and I want somthing I can drive across the country and not get raped at the pump. A 4bt ranger is the only vehicle I can think of that would fill both needs well. I want a ext cab that can get me 30mpgs

There are a lot of really nice low mileage Rangers out there for a really decent price. I see them all the time. Go buy one of them and don't waste your money on something like that.

Non stick, under 10k, that get 30mpgs? I can't think of any other options.

My 99 Ranger with 4.0 is lifted with 33's with an automatic and I get 24 on the highway at 75 mph. I get a little over 20 on the highway towing one of my 16 ft flats boats. I go a little over 400 miles between fill ups. If you want gas milage get a gas sipper and don't drive it far. Go to KBB.com and see what that vehicle is vauled at and read reveiws about it.

i believe you about your mpg.

but, you bring your truck here, tank up and run back and forth from my house to detroit everyday for a week....allhiway at that....you will probably get 17-19.

while theres several reasons for that, i will bet on it. its a very safe bet.

that ats trans was probably 5 grand so 10 grand he needs to break even i am guessing...bummer there.

between our two locations i seen/was notified by others actually, theres a guy/place with several running 4bt grummans for about 1800 each.

upon inspection to see if they are junk or not this could be a great deal.

contingent on whether or not those trucks in the ad are anygood, i was willing to do the labor to construct you a base worktruck if you bought two so i could have one for my b2. maybe dude would let two go for 1450 each or something.

you seem to have a fleet of rbv and assumed one of those was the intended doner.

if that is close to you go check it out.....sit in it running for a few and see if the guy will take you for a cruise and let you drive a bit.

be real honest about what you think of it.

if you cant get it and still want to build one, atleast you know what your getting in to.

Haaa haaa...you talking about steep hills, Bro?...lol. We have a few here to travel up on, but it is mostly very level here. We take a weekend trip with the boat once in a while to go camping and boating and I drive like 45-60 miles one way. Sometimes a bit more than that. We drive the truck around where we go boating and camping a lot as well (dinner and grocery store and to visit a friend or two near by). When I drive it back and forth to Tampa everyday I top it off every other week.
