what will happen if I take the vacuum disconnect off of a jeep wagoneer dana 44 and plug the hole? locked in 4wd or out? will it cause any other problems? going on competition mud truck.

It takes vac. pressure to slide the collar over to lock it in.

I don't understand these axles can I weld spiders or anything, doesn't matter if permanently locked. as a matter of prefer it that way

I'm not familiar with that axle in particular. I'm basing it off of the 3 Cherokees I've had. You can take the disconnect off and manually slide it over and weld it.

I had welded spiders in my Cherokee and a manual push/pull disconnect. No vacuum lines to mess with.

My buddy has a spring to hold the collar loced at all times. I'll see if i can get more info on it.
