Yard work and splitting fire wood was on the menu yesterday.

I'm way behind on the firewood. I have three sets of racks. First year, second year, and in current use. Current use is full but 2nd year only has one rack filled and 1st year is completely empty.

I've been so busy fixing things and working on finishing uncompleted projects that the firewood has fallen behind. I need to fix that, after I replace the tarp that is falling apart on the one empty rack.

And it turns out the new carb I had installed on the string trimmer was a P.O.S. So, $180 later, plus whatever the crap carb cost, the trimmer is running correctly again

My credo
Giving my truck more money than it deserves.
Finally ended my oil pressure scare. I have been watching my gauge (see the dummy conversion in the tech library) creep to 0 psi since I sunk the car. I plugged in an analog gauge to check for real. The HFT one said, as much as you can trust it, ~25 at idle and ~50 at 2000 rpm after running for several minutes. Reusing cam bearings and lifters as well as bumping the key probably 100 times to clear my clutch means it isn't perfect, but good enough to keep driving.

This is now the second sender that has died on me. At least this one has an excuse.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Saw one of the best concerts I've ever been to last night.

Puddles pity party
Coheed and cambria
PRIMUS!

Incredible show.

Puddles pity party was unique.. billed as 'the sad clown with a golden voice' it's one 60 year old guy (singer) who dresses up like a clown and does these weird kinda mash-up type songs..

The one that sticks in my head is the lyrics from the Gilligan's island theme.. but sung to the tune of stairway to heaven.. his whole set was stuff like that for the most part. Another one was the lyrics from some johnny cash song sung to the tune of something else... seemed kinda gimmicky to me at first but dude definitely won me over. Someone who doesn't know Johnny's long since dead would've thought it was the man in black himself singing.. suuuuuper talented.

Coheed was awesome. Claudio's ridiculous voice is just as good live as it is on their studio stuff.. and he fking SHREDS on guitar.. their drummer has a hilarious 'blow-up-doll' face the entire time he's playing though 😋

Primus.... well...... it goes without saying that primus sucks (if you know, you know)

Les Claypool is an irrefutable bass GOD. For people who dont know.. he's such a machine with the fat strings that when he auditioned to be in Metallica after their O.G bassist died 4 decades ago... he got a resounding NO WAY from James, Lars, and Kirk. They literally told Les that his talent would be WASTED in Metallica.. the guys told him he needs to start his own thing.. and it needs to be started IMMIDEATELY. Les was lucky in the fact that he was able to recruit a guitarist and a drummer just about as talented as himself too... they're definitely up there in ranks among the all time best 3 piece bands.. right there with rush and dying fetus.

Speaking of rush.. they covered a Rush song with Claudio from coheed doing part of the vocals.. and then covered Holy diver by DIO with the sad clown on vocals... they absolutely SLAYED both.

Only picture I took. Primus' opening song (those damned blue-collar tweakers)

As a side note... this was only my 2nd outdoor concert.. and the first since weed was made legal.

I had NO IDEA it was possible to fill an ENTIRE QUARTER MILE OF ATMOSPHERE up with smoke. I really didn't. It was an amusing tidbit to learn lol. Definitely some young'ins in attendance who had their first high last night 😆

I saw Primus in the early 90s in Lewiston. They’re one of those bands that will give your brain a serious workout.
Fun fact: while doing his antics on stage, Les _always _ turned left. Never right. Always wondered about that.

Edit: Jerry was a race car driver

Now that you mention it... I did notice the complete lack of right turns by Les lol. The little 'skip' he does while slappin the hell out of his bass is so incredibly iconic to the band too.. just like mick jaggers strut.. or the moonwalk..

Definitely want to see them again before they call it quits.

Oh is he still doing that? Wasn't sure if that was a one-off. I guess that's his thing. One of his things anyway.

Oh yes.. he's still doing it.. and it's GLORIOUS!

I really should've bought a patch.. I just never felt like dealing with what was quite literally a 100 yard long line for the merch booth... all night long.

Yesterday I mowed my property and got access to three of four junk cars. Sprayed some poison ivy.

Today I’ll be digging out #4. Supposedly a guy is coming tomorrow to work on getting all 4 gone. I’ll be really happy to see them gone, I’ve been trying to get rid of them for years now. Everyone that said they would come for them never showed. There’s no titles, the police won’t give me abandoned vehicle paperwork, and if I had the dump truck and skid loader working, I’d drag them down to my shed and chunk them up. Gonna be a hot minute before the dump truck is done though and same with the skid loader. If I can get it done now, it’s one less thing to have to deal with later.

Went to the lake for a few hours last night. Starred at the scenery and did some walking around. Saw smoke from the park and Boise fires surrounding the mountains. Saw a dear family.
wow!

trying to weld. this brings my total "career" at welding to about 45 minutes of sparks 'n stuff.
I've been told to "go get a day job", just not a welding one :icon_thumby: ( I'm retired)

All is good. It’s one of those things where not only do you have to understand the theory, you have to get some practice before it starts flowing (ha ha).

While you’re learning, just don’t work on any stools or anything else that might be between your legs if it doesn’t work right

Well, I finally got me a storage shed for my house. a nice 10' x 20' dual loft barn. They dropped that off bright and early on Tuesday (630am... ) so my week has been filled with moving some stuff out of my garage, and planning how to put it in the shed, plus the storage locker that I am renting for 110 bucks a month, also 10 x 20...) so in the daylight hours after work I took a 6 foot tall by 5 foot wide industrial shelf out of my garage to put in the shed. I have two of them. found out that the door to the shed is exactly 1 inch shorter than the effing shelf, and about a foot and a half narrower than the 6 foot width. So, for the lack of about an inch and a half clearance, I had to take the shelf completely apart and reassemble it in the shed. got one more to go. that was Tuesday and Wednesday. also moved the bikes, snow blower, and old walk behind mower to the shed. Yesterday and Today I have been making brackets to attach to the wall to store the kayaks. that was finished today after work, and now both kayaks are in the shed. need to unload the other shelf in the garage and disassemble it and move it out there, then I can put more stuff out. Goal for this weekend is to clear the garage enough to get the Ranger inside to start the brake line overhaul to get it ready for a few weeks to go to LBL.

Any of you want to come to Indy area to help with operation brakejob... I welcome your help lol
