If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
Does the starter spin, but not turn the engine? Or does it clunk in and nothing spins?
The starter just would not spin at all. Turns out the starter was bad even though it was a "new" starter and not remanufactured. Today I ran down to O'Reilly's and got a different starter and installed it right there to be sure it worked properly. This one is a remaned but works better than the new one. Oh well it's done now and fixed.

I harvested the hay in front of the house today. I don’t want to say it had grown too tall, but I had forgotten that I parked the F250 out there.

I start the back 40 tomorrow morning. I’ve got to do it before it goes over like 80°.

Went to national trails raceway for the mopar nationals, caught a jump of a general lee! couldn’t upload video so got a screenshot & cropped it, jump length was 216 ft. How do you create colored tire smoke? last guy in the burnout competition managed to have purplish tire smoke.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

There are tires made with compounds in them to make colored smoke. I had a co-worker who bought a blue smoke motorcycle tire for a gender-reveal burnout before his first child was born.

the border czar and the puppet provide plenty of room for that. So much that they get lost in there.

Today, I might have gotten mom addicted to TV. I was over the other day and they were discussing with my niece how her school was decorated with a Wizard of Oz theme for the beginning of the school year. Turns out that at 5, my nieve has never seen anything Wizard of Oz, didn't know what it was (or atleast didn't remember it). Mom proceeded to go rent it on Amazon and sit with her in an uncomfortable chair if front of a 17" computer monitor to watch the movie.

Yeah, that ain't going to work.

Been meaning to look into those streaming TV boxes for a while, so I finally did it. Got them set up with one of the $20 Onn 4k TV box deals from Wal-Mart. No Wizard of Oz for free, but atleast when they rent stuff like that they can watch it on the bigger screen. Also a lot of good free content available on there, including childrens programming for the niece.

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Got the o2 sensors installed, truck now runs better than it ever has.

Plugging in the rear one was a slight PITA.. one of the pins from the old sensor plug was snapped off flush in the plug on the harness side.. that took a little friggery to get out.. but it went a lot quicker and easier than I was expecting.

Pretty sure I wasted 12$ on that tube of ultra-grey though. After closer inspection it seems like my continued drip of coolant isn't from the hard pipe>pump connection... but from the rubber hoses that slip onto the hard pipe. The hoses are driven right home.. but they'll wanna seep a bit until you put the clamps back on them 🤦‍♀️ dummy 😝

Didn't end up taking it for a drive, but I did get to enjoy the sounds of the new exhaust at idle while standing behind the truck. That damn China header and my "n1" style exhaust sounds incredible sitting there idling.

Put your foot in it though.. and she sounds like the four cylinder'n-est four cylinder to ever have four cylinders. It almost sounds exactly like an f1 car... just 200mph slower. I'm just staggered at its level of volume.. I figured sticking to 2.25" would keep the noise to a reasonable level... nope 😆

The first 5 minutes of my test drive are gonna be super amusing.. then I'm gonna find a spot to pull over and hop right on Amazon for more muffler 😋

Friend of Bill W.
Finally got in the rebuilt A/C hoses from ColdHose.com for my '75 Ranchero. I removed the radiator and A/C condenser yesterday - a cooler 85F day. All had to come out to replace the dryer.

Today, back in the 90's, I reassembled all with new o-rings. Got all finished. Hooked up my A/C vacuum pump and vacuum gauge AND sheeez! Such a big vacuum leak I didn't think the gauge needle would even move!

Oh well. I'll wait for another cooler Colorado day while thinking this over. Could I have lost an o-ring? Leak in the new hoses? Break in a condenser line mount which has happened before?

Better to let this wait for a cooler day.

New injectors and motor/trans mount on Brothers stang. Figured out wiring problem/ installed new train blaster horn on ranger. Then cut grass. Cold snacks started while doing horn. Ended the night with a cruise through the neighborhood on the new to me wheel horse 520-h

Removed a section of fence in anticipation of a new shed arriving on Tuesday. Used the Ranger with a logging chain and an old rim to uproot a post to assist me.
