Almost all replacement parts... outside of Motorcraft replacements are a total crapshoot.

Choose your replacements cautiously...

Repainted the lower blue portion on my 87 Ranger this past week. Turned out ok, going to repaint the white here in the near future, did the blue first because it was suffering the flaking and missing clear coat and had a couple of areas with some minor surface rust.

You can tell where paint bled through the painter's tape, I assume there's a better paint out there for this type of work? Need to find out what tape and where to get it before I repaint the white. Going to go about 1/2 inch into the blue with the white to get the paint lines back to where they should be. Originally there was a tape stripe of blue and white between the 2 paint colors and I got rid of it during the painting process because it was peeling and fading really bad anyways.

Yeah found that out the hard way. Basically the mounts for the original switch broke so the original switch was turned on with pliers so much it wasn't able to be used again. Replaced it and held it in with drywall screws. Then yesterday it went out so ye...

Yesterday I gave the interior a good vacuuming, windows washed, wiped down all plastic surfaces. Today the truck got a good hand washing, drying and conditioned the tonneau cover. I hot the tires and mud flaps with some tire wet for that deep black look. It's currently waiting for its appointment to have the pictures taken for the calendar later this afternoon.

Also praying the quarry isn't blasting between now and then. The other day I saw one of the large earth movers at the top of the hill behind me from my parking lot so they are that close to me.

Just the right size to touch the ground.
Not so much what I "did" to my Ranger today, but more what I "received" for my Ranger today.

Maybe I'll get some time over the 4th of July weekend to install it.

Loaded the ranger with a sledge hammer, a crow bar, and a sawzall. Then went on a roadside repair to fix this. Fender was mashed into the tire so i had to cut, hack, pry, and beat to get it able to drive home. Put the headlight back on with duck tape and zip ties...

It was a GM so i think my repairs were more than adequate.

Cop sat there and watched me because if it wasn't "up to his standards" he was going to call a tow truck and not let the kid drive it. He laughed when I was done, but it passed his test.

Made it to Texas last night. The last 100 miles were rough. The 2019 did a good job and got the mileage it was supposed to.

About 24 mpg with E10 for two tanks and 25 mpg with a tank of straight gas I stumbled upon on the trip. Everything was less than what we pay back home in Taxylvainia.

A nice looking truck you have there. When you did your lift did it pull the center of the axle towards the rear? Kinda looks like the tire sits off center in the wheel well.

Changed the rear axle lube. Gen 2 Sport Tracs are easy because they have a drain plug on the diff cover. I changed it every 30k until I hit 150k and it was draining out clean so this time I waited till almost 50k and it still looked good. Best to remove the spare tire so you can snake the fill hose through a hole in the crossmember. Yes I have almost 200,000 miles on it.
