Left my friend's house in the mtns this evening and I learned more how precious life is...

Got about a mile down the dark curvey road and Come across a roll over in the ditch. I stopped to look and got out both my maglites and shined in the SUV to find a single occupant. She was covered in blood head to toe. Someone stopped to call 911..in the meantime I kept her alert and talking. She was fading in and out, I kept her talking for 20 mins until cops and fire department arrived. Assist with until she was out and loaded into the ambulance. I have a couple more words for her to get a big thank you. A paramedic came to say she would likely not have made it if you were not here talking to her. Waited until ambulance was gone to get a police escort to be on my way home.

As I was letting my ranger idle for a little bit, couple of chp and sheriff's said it sounds real good and like my ranger.

Overall my ranger and I did a great thing..saving another life... WOW.

They say there are Angels living amongst us here on Earth, In the right place at the right time. Awesome job brother!

Put a nice coat of wax on my 93 Ranger yesterday. Easy on easy off. I like this application better than turtle wax. A much nicer shine and bead

Yeah, I used Turtle Wax for a few years before someone convinced me to go with Mothers or Meguires. I went with the Meguires Gold Class. First time I put it on I didn’t really see any difference but after a few days it seemed like it really brought out the metal flake in the paint and made it look like a puddle. That had me sold.

opened the tailgate to let 2inches of standing water drain out of the bed from yesterday's storms. didn't realize that a bedliner when mixed with a some leaves and tree grime could form a water tight seal between the tailgate and bed...

Ran into this with my dad's old Silverado. If parked with the nose of the truck slightly downhill, the bedliner would retain water in the front of the bed. That bedliner is probably the best thing on that piece-of-junk Chevrolet. By October I expect to be rid of it, as my Ranger is its replacement.

Installed the tailgate retaining strap and while I was at it I drilled the heads off the screws for the sill plate that was cracked and installed the new one.

I'm still having problems with the high idle between shifting. Something new: I ran the air conditioner yesterday because it almost reached 90° here. There are two new things going on when the air conditioner is running. The first is the idle runs higher between shifts and stays high for about 15 seconds after coming to a complete stop. The other is a really quick stop with the air conditioner on occasionally makes the engine almost stall IF the idle doesn't remain high after stopping. I took a look at a couple things this morning and noticed a small oil drop on the bottom of the bell housing, a bit of oil along the mating surface of the oil pan, and again along part of the valve cover at the front of the engine. These oil leaks weren't there a week ago, and could potentially indicated excessive crankcase pressure. The breather tube that connects between the top of the valve cover and intake snorkel is clear. I can't really do much of a check on the PCV system without at least pulling the front wheel off, but I can see some oil vapor floating around in the intake manifold if I look in through the throttle body immediately after shutting the engine off indicating the hose isn't plugged. There is quite a bit of air coming out of the valve cover when I remove the oil filler cap, but a search about this yields results indicating this may be normal on the Duratec. It's been a few years since I changed the PCV valve, so I ordered an entire oil separator kit from Ford. Why the whole kit ? Because I wanted to replace the PCV valve and grommets. It's actually easier to replace the PCV valve if you remove the whole oil separator, in which case I would use a new gasket due to the age of the truck. Well, Autozone wants $19 for the PCV valve, O'reilly wants $23, the gasket for the oil separator is $11 and both places state it will be next Monday before I can get the gasket, and Amazon wants $27 for the PCV valve and a week to ship it to me, and $16 for the gasket. Amazon has lost their minds with pricing over the last year. Just to compare pricing, the PCV valve is $4.36 at Rockauto and the gasket is $4.56. Ford wants $7.86 for the PCV valve and $5.something for the gasket. I ended up ordering the oil separator assembly because the grommets will take a week to get here from Ford. The oil separator should be here tomorrow and comes with all the gaskets, grommets, and PCV valve, and Ford is cheaper and faster than Amazon. What's with the price gouging at the retailers?

I purchased the mudflaps and the Yosemite Sam Stickers Separately. I'll install them next week sometime. I hate when people are up my ass. Maybe they'll get the hint.

Have to get closer to see what it says. That's why wordy bumper stickers with small print are bad.
